Esperanza Spalding Recorded New Album on Facebook Live in 77 Hours


Grammy award winning Jazz vocalist and bassist Esperanza Spalding just completed her 5th studio album, but this time around was much different than the rest. With this new project titled "Exposure," she took on the task of creating the 10 song record completely from scratch on Facebook live within 77 hours. What's more, she's chosen to only press up 7,777 limited edition CD and Vinyl copies which have already sold out within the first day of pre-order. 

The live stream was set up like an official TV broadcast with multiple cameras set up, changing angles and shots sporadically within Facebook Live. Fans got an intimate look into the artist's creative process and also grew to love the behind the scenes players that make everything work. Beloved artists Robert Glasper and Lalah Hathaway stopped by to contribute to Exposure as well. We didn't get a chance to reserve our copy in time, so hopefully the album will still be available digitally sometime soon.
