CyHi The Prynce Finally Releases His Album - No Dope on Sundays [Stream]

G.O.O.D. Music representative CyHi The Prynce has been hard at work trying to do the Stone Mountain/Redan Rd. community proud ever since his introduction to the world on KanYe West's #GOODFRIDAY release of "So Appalled" that went on to be featured on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. That was 2010. 7 years and a slew of mixtapes later, CyHi's finally here with his highly anticipated debut.

FRESH & LOCAL CERTIFIED TRACKS: "Get Yo Money," " God Bless Your Heart," and "Nu Africa."

From the time you turn on the album, you can hear a heavy spiritual undertone as CyHi quotes verses from the Bible while telling his story of coming up in Atlanta. He never intended to get involved in street life, but found himself grandfathered in by his older family members and friends. The album boasts a pretty impressive list of guest appearances including the likes of KanYe (as heard on "Dat Side"), Pusha T, Schoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, Estelle, Jagged Edge, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Travis Scott. It doesn't hurt that most of these artists are either current or former members of the G.O.O.D. Music family.

Lyrically, it's just about what you'd expect from CyHi The Prynce if you've ever heard him rap before. Not to say that's a good or bad thing, this definitely is a fully fleshed out project and is much more cohesive than his previous releases. The sound is juxtaposed between boom-bap headbangers and trap-like anthems as displayed on "Move Around" feat. Schoolboy Q. All in all, it's a pleasurable listen and certainly serves as a solid album from a lyricist that wants to expand from just being seen as an underground champion with potential.
